Cancer Research UK is carrying out life saving research across the country every day. Birmingham is no exception being the home of the charity’s world leading Children Cancer Trials unit that make innovative new treatments available to children with cancer, giving them the chance to benefit from the latest discoveries and also the cutting-edge TRACERx programme, which is tackling lung disease.

Judy has worked with the charity’s Will Service since its inception in 2002. As a graduate of Birmingham University she is pleased to see Institute of Translational Medicine being delivered to bring together clinical, scientific and academic excellence including the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, the University of Birmingham and the Birmingham Children’s Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The collaboration between these trusts and the University has borne landmark research projects evidenced through the high profile research CRUK Clinical and Technology Hub status award.

In 2015, the charity is introducing the Birmingham: We Will Beat Cancer Campaign tailored specifically to increase awareness and working relationships within the Birmingham Business community. Judy is honoured to be appointed the first Ambassador for the Campaign.
