News from Woodbourne – The Table

ByJudy Dyke January 20, 2015

We are very fortunate to work in special Victorian premises at Woodbourne. Over our 10 years residence Martin has worked on clearing the garden and in 2014 installed 8 bee hives and created Ken’s Orchard in memory of my father.

Working in Victorian premises has its occasional difficulties. We have experienced collapsing walls and the need for a new roof!! It does however give inestimable benefits as an atmospheric and pleasant place of work.

Together with our work on the building and in the garden we are always seeking to improve our client’s experience. A client told us that she felt the desk in our interview room “let us down”. Since then Martin and Steve have been scouring auction rooms in the area for a replacement desk.

Last year we were so grateful to our friends at Fieldings Auctioneers of Stourbridge as they supported my project of ’35 Lots for 35 Years’ in support of St Mary’s Hospice.

Now in January 2015 we saw ‘The Table’ in the Fieldings January Auction. The Table was lot 892 out of 902 lots in the sale. The bidding for lot 892 started at 6:30 pm and Martin was thrilled to be the successful buyer. The Table is now installed in our interview room. Please do come and have a look at it and tell us what you think!
