17th April 2011
Four of us took to the track at the University of Birmingham and enjoyed 16 circuits – we’re getting there!
We were fortunate to meet Mike from UK Athletics who gave us the following top tips:
-
If doing circuits change direction every so often so that any additional pressure on joints is alternated.
-
Jog tall – don’t hunch your shoulders.
-
Vary your speed during training runs to build up stamina.
Pleased to hear from James at Barclays that he is going round Edgbaston Reservoir on Monday evenings. On the 18th April he did 5 laps which he reckons was 7.5 miles. If anyone wants to join James, Joe and Kelly at the Reservoir on Mondays at 6pm they will be most welcome.
