Business Lasting Powers of Attorney
The Mental Health Discrimination Act in 2013, to reduce the stigma attached to mental ill health, legislates so that Directors, among others, could no longer be removed from a business on the grounds of poor mental health.
This could leave a business unable to make decisions, leading to company difficulties. Difficulties in writing cheques/authorising transfers to pay staff, suppliers and creditors for example.
A Business Lasting Power of Attorney would give your appointed Attorney the ability to make decisions within the parameters of the Attorneyship.
